Safeguarding Children

Safeguarding Children

The Diocese of Meath recognises and upholds the dignity and rights of all children and is committed to ensuring their safety and well-being. The Diocese values and encourages the participation of children in parish liturgies and in all activities that enhance their spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual and social development. The Diocese recognises the need to protect children and aims to do this in a way that promotes their dignity and integrity as children of God. While child protection is everyone’s responsibility, all involved in working with young people have a special duty of care towards them.

The Diocese has put procedures in place through which this care is put into effect. All clergy, staff and volunteers are required to comply with the policy procedures and practices outlined in the policy document which can be accessed at www.dioceseofmeath.ie
