New School Update

CONSTRUCTION OF OUR NEW SCHOOL

Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh

UPDATE

Work on the school has recommenced after the Summer Holidays.

The building is progressing very well but experienced a few delays that has put the completion date back some weeks.

The scaffolding has been taken down, work on the play and parking areas is taking place, the boundary walls are being constructed while electrical and mechanical works continue internally.

The older two classroom building from the 1940s known as "Mount Carmel" is being preserved and is being restored to its original configuration.

The current staff and pupils vacated the site before demolition work began and have made themselves at home in their temporary accommodation beside Tara Road (the large grey building on the left).

The new school is a sister school to Scoil Oilibhéir Naofa which accommodates junior primary classes

Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh accommodates the senior primary classes

Both schools can accommodate 750 mainstream children with additional spaces provided for children in the Special Need Units

This provides for over 1500 children at primary level in the Laytown/Bettystown area of the parish

For the duration of the development, parishioners may park in the grounds of the Parochial Hall for Masses and Church ceremonies. They may also like to make use of the new public parking at the roundabout. A temporary pedestrian crossing has been placed close to the church that should be used when crossing the road.
